LOS ANGELES, California (AP) — A federal grand jury indicted two elderly women accused of befriending transient men and then collecting on life insurance policies worth $2.3 million after the men died in hit-and-run crashes.
U.S. Rep.Dave Obey, D-Wausau, will speak about the new Medicare prescription drug program on Thursday in Wausau. The event, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Marathon County Aging and Disability Resource Center, is open to anyone.
The deadline for the first enrollment period of Medicare Part D was May 15. For many in Mitchell County, it means substantially lowered bills for prescription medication.
